A ROOT IS NO BRANCH

4-panel photographic installation, 40”x40”x60”

Installation view

Four disparate views of the same exposed and intricate root system. Fragmented texts are superimposed on the images and propel the viewer to circumnavigate the four sides of the volumetric form. They read as,

β€œA ROOT”

β€œIS”

β€œNO”

β€œBRANCH”

While each photograph has its own intricate imagery, together they formulate a continuous and yet fragmented view of the same root system. One of the shoots of the root ball only reveals itself to be actually a branch with green leaves hanging lower than the lowest point of the root ball.
